Happy Holidays - traditions edition

I have my own finicky holiday tradition. I am pretty sure I started it around 1994 so I guess it's a pretty good one. I listen to this song on Christmas Eve:

I have to admit that it has been difficult getting into the holiday spirit this year. With all the things going on in our lives, school, travel, jobs, etc... I just got my shopping done yesterday and gifts wrapped this morning. Sara still needs to finish her shopping. I am going to get some decorations up today. We have a poinsettia but no tree (yet). This is our first Christmas without our extended families. It's tough but it's nice to just spend some time together, just the two of us. This is a great opportunity to create a new "family" tradition together.

Happy Holidays to all! May you have a great and peaceful time together with family, friends and loved ones.

Can you believe I've never heard that song?? And you've had it as a tradition for 14 years! Why didn't you let me in on it?? Are traditions to be kept private? No, this is NOT a scolding! Just wondering why I never knew about the song!
We DEFINITELY missed you at our Christmas doings. It is the first year we saw neither you and Sara or Susan and her family in the days up to and after Christmas. We certainly had memorable celebrations, though, what with no power, candle & fireplace power, and a generator that needed feeding every two hours around the clock, then, despite not being hungry, spit flames out the exhaust! We had a great time, and hope y'all did, too. Did you get a tree?? We didn't. We had a 5-ft. tall angel instead. Traditions? We certainly talked about them during our ordeal, and, in some ways, what we went through this year COULD have parts that we might want to keep to include in our Christmas traditions!
